Ridge crowned ‘Consultant of the Year’ at the 2023 National Building and Construction Awards

17 November 2023

We are delighted to have won the ‘Consultant of the Year’ Gold Award at the National Building and Construction Awards.

The ‘Consultancy of the Year’ is awarded to the company which, in the view of the judging panel, demonstrates the most significant and sustained achievement over the last 12 months, illustrating development through the quality of their work.

This prestigious Gold Award is a testament to our unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional quality and value beyond our clients’ expectations by focusing on quality, innovation, and growth as we continue to expand our expertise and nurture the talent of our people. It reflects how our experts identify and solve the needs of our clients, where we bring bespoke, creative solutions to clients’ complex issues based on their specific circumstances and constraints.

We also won silver in the ‘Project of the Year (up to £10 million)’ category, at the ceremony yesterday evening at the Hilton London Wembley.

Our two projects that were finalists for ‘Project of the Year (up to £10 million)’, were Chesil Cliff House and RNLI lifeboat station at Wells-next-the-Sea in Norfolk.

The 6,500 sq ft Chesil Cliff House on the North Devon Coast and its 2,000 sq ft annexe building, The Eye, featured as part of Channel 4’s Grand Designs series in 2019. The bold and elegant design for Chesil Cliff House, by Alan Phillips Architects, is contemporary and eye-catching, but complements the location well, giving the impression of an art deco lighthouse nestled snugly into the cliffs.

The new RNLI lifeboat station at Wells-next-the-Sea in Norfolk was built to replace the 1895 building, which could no longer accommodate the staff and community’s needs. The new building can house the new, faster and more agile Shannon-class all-weather lifeboat, which was partly funded by a community campaign, and the station’s D-class inshore lifeboat.

David Johnson, Partner at Ridge, said:

“It is an honour to collect the prestigious Gold Award, which recognises the dedication and professionalism of our people and our ambition to become the multidisciplinary property and construction consultants of choice for clients from all the sectors in which we work. It is also testament to the progress Ridge has made in diverse areas, from sustainability, social value and ESG to digital/technical innovation and strategic business growth.”
