Phil is Managing Partner for our Cambridge office and leads our Building Services Engineering discipline, which has over 100 engineers based across 10 locations.  

Phil balances his managerial tasks while remaining resolutely client and project focused.  

He is very active in our defence and security sector and leads projects with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the MOD and Boeing Defence. As well as supporting these major clients, he also leads regional projects with regional design teams.

Paul is an enthusiastic and dedicated engineer who brings over 30 years of experience across many sectors of the construction industry. Paul is passionate about the environment and promotes low carbon and sustainable solutions to our clients. Paul has championed the growth of our sustainability offering within Ridge. He has a particular interest in education and public buildings. A notable high point of his career was heading the building services team that helped deliver the Mary Rose Museum.

Steve is a Partner at Ridge based in Bristol, where he leads the building services team.

He enjoys the challenges that building services engineering provides, solving inherent issues in existing buildings and evolving new build client requirements into an appropriate solution, looking beyond building services into holistic measures.

Steve has a proven track record of achieving repeat business through continued performance and delivery with major clients.

Carl has a strong reputation within the industry, which has been earned by his technical expertise and contribution in overcoming challenges to successfully delivering many prestigious and award-winning projects.

Coming from a trade apprenticeship background, Carl brings a practical knowledge as well as engineering solutions to projects and has an excellent understanding of specific project needs. Believing in a collaborative approach with clients, Carl always drives to establish clear briefs, to fully understand a client’s requirements and expectations, whilst offering professional advice and ideas to add positive contributions to new schemes.

With a wealth of experience, covering most sectors, Carl is able to fully understand and work with the various specialist technologies available, offer innovative solutions, advise on industry standards and desirable building accreditations.

Carl has worked with many leading Clients and design teams, being involved from initial concept and strategy advice through to detailed design, and delivery and handover.

Paul has over 20years experience in Building Services Engineering and leads our Building Services team in Cambridge.

He has worked across a large range of sectors and has undertaken some nationally significant and unique projects. Most recently, Paul was the MEP lead for the National Satellite Test Facility at Harwell, which contained some of the world’s largest cleanroom facilities.

He has a particular enthusiasm for projects which add social value, particularly those in the Education Sector, where he has delivered over 60 new school buildings.

Paul is passionate about producing more sustainable buildings and increasing collaboration between design teams and other professionals, these partnerships have endured for many years.

Richard has been responsible for the delivery of a wide range of project work across many sectors. His career began in Oxford, where he developed expertise in science and research facilities, higher education, and heritage buildings. A decade spent in London broadened Richard’s experience to encompass large-scale residential and commercial projects, leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams on iconic developments such as Battersea Power Station and Olympia London.

Returning to Oxford, Richard is part of the office senior leadership group and has responsibility for the MEP team. He plays an active role in concept design and takes pride in driving value from early client engagement. He has a passion for pragmatic sustainable design and believes that engineering solutions (and the way in which they are presented) should be kept as simple as possible. His current focus is around the advanced manufacturing and science and research sectors.

Ben is a partner in our Building Services team in Birmingham, responsible for project delivery across a diverse range of schemes and sectors including leisure, health, education and data centres.

He is a multi-disciplined engineer with over 30 years’ experience within the industry. Ben has a proven track record of project delivery from inception and feasibility through to construction and handover. A firm believer in collaboration as a major contributor to success, he retains a strong customer focus whilst managing internal delivery teams throughout the key stages of all schemes.

Jon has worked on a range of projects across many sectors of the industry since starting as a Building Services Engineer in 2003. His experience includes design, management and delivery of project on varying scales. He is an enthusiastic engineer and enjoys developing the junior members of staff. He relishes the challenge of overcoming difficult design pieces, always looking for the right solution for the client.

Jon forges solid relationships with clients which is proven by the high percentage of repeat business. Jon has a key interest in prime residential projects and has been involved in a number of projects over the last 10 years.

Sustainability and lowering energy usage is a key topic and something Jon strives for on all projects.

Derek’s career includes a broad base of Building Services design and engineering, covering complete project lifecycles on a wide variety of prestigious projects, and working for clients from several sectors, particularly within the Arts, Leisure, Retail, Commercial, Residential and HE Sectors. Being involved with several high-profile projects and clients, Derek has a proven track record of successfully delivering highly complex and innovative schemes.

Derek has also led several multidiscipline teams delivering significant new build and regeneration schemes throughout the UK.

Derek is a member of the British Council for Offices and regularly participates in regional events to further reinforce his knowledge and experience in workspace design. Derek has a particular interest in affordable low energy architectural and integrated energy solutions, and as a former BREEAM AP and has guided many projects to achieve holistic and sustainable outcomes.

Austin is Partner at Ridge and leads our MEP London team. He is a Chartered Building Services Engineer with over 20 years of experience across construction, telecommunications, design management, and consultancy.

Formerly Director and Head of Building Services at WSP’s London office, Ausin led a team of 130 engineers and technicians, delivering major projects in sectors including commercial, residential, hospitality, and education.

Austin continues to leverage extensive experience in managing complex, multidisciplinary projects, with a focus on delivering energy-efficient, innovative design solutions. Having worked on iconic projects like One Bishopsgate Plaza, Aykon London One and South Quay Plaza, he brings a proven track record of successful project delivery, both in the UK and internationally, with experience spanning Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

Simon is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the CIBSE with 28 years of experience in building services engineering design within the construction industry.
