Richard is a Chartered Environmentalist and Chartered Water Environment Manager with a MSc in Geotechnical Engineering. He has 28 years’ experience working as a ground investigation consultant for a mix of private and public sector clients on a variety of projects across multiple sectors.
Richard has a wealth of experience heading up Geo-Environmental Teams, providing concise and detailed investigation reports enabling Clients to make accurate decisions about site acquisition, obtaining regulatory approval for development and enabling contaminated land planning conditions to be discharged.
His approach is to carry out comprehensive yet economic investigations to ensure sites are thoroughly investigated and constraints and opportunities identified at an early stage.
Richard has particular expertise in earthworks and waste classification and is a Qualified Person (QP) under the CL:AIRE Definition of Waste Code of Practice protocol. This initiative enables waste soils to be moved between sites outside of the waste legislation process.
In order to allow early identification of risk and design constraints at your site, Ridge design cost effective site investigations to determine the physical, mechanical and chemical properties of ground materials.
Ridge geo-environmental engineers provide a comprehensive service from scoping to supervising, and finally analysing the data to provide quantifiable conclusions and recommendations for ground-borne risk.
At this crucial stage your project will benefit from greater certainty thanks to our proactive and comprehensive approach to the early identification and resolution of potential issues, using the most efficient and cost effective option appropriate for the site.
We provide comprehensive assessments for contaminated land and brownfield sites, from initial desk top studies and environmental due diligence reports through to methodology for site remediation. Our services include:
