Paul is an enthusiastic and dedicated engineer who brings over 30 years of experience across many sectors of the construction industry. Paul is passionate about the environment and promotes low carbon and sustainable solutions to our clients. Paul has championed the growth of our sustainability offering within Ridge. He has a particular interest in education and public buildings. A notable high point of his career was heading the building services team that helped deliver the Mary Rose Museum.

As a multidiscipline practice, our wide-ranging roles cover the maintenance of fabric and services; master planning and delivery of new buildings; and the refurbishment of existing facilities. Our depth of experience in this ever-evolving environment allows us to bring innovative and leading-edge thinking to each project, with a constant focus on ensuring our work benefits students, staff and wider stakeholder groups.
Understanding our clients’ needs and the importance of stakeholder management resulted in Ridge being appointed to provide a dedicated team of technical advisors to the Department for Education to deliver a significant programme of new schools. We also provide extensive support to Academies to secure Condition Improvement Funding (CIF), and to deliver those funded projects – from new windows, fire safety improvements and de-carbonisation through to expansion schemes. Our understanding of the process has helped us secure more than £30m in CIF and SALIX funding.
We also have wide-ranging experience assisting with the strategic management of education estates due to our understanding of budgetary cycles and the need to maximise capital expenditure. Our Building Surveyors and Engineers frequently undertake condition and asset surveys so we can prepare asset management plans and databases, which support proactive management of the buildings and grounds.
