On behalf of Bromford Developments Ltd, the Ridge Planning team have successfully achieved planning permission for 30 affordable homes in Tetbury. The proposals contribute towards the Council's affordable housing need, helping to achieve a socially inclusive and well-balanced community.

The site, which is a greenfield site, is located within the Cotswold AONB and within the development boundary for Tetbury.

The planning team at Ridge was responsible for leading the application which involved extensive consultation with Cotswold District Council, local residents and the ward member, producing a number of supporting documents and overseeing other documentation produced by a variety of consultants, and submitting and monitoring the application.

The main issues to be addressed included the following;

• The principle of development
• Layout and design
• Traffic generation and highway impact
• Impact on AONB
• Residential amenity
• Drainage and flooding
• Contamination

Ridge put forward a strong, robust case which addressed all the above issues, providing additional information where required.

The LPA concluded that overall, the scheme would make a significant contribution to the supply of the social rented housing in the area to meet an identified need. Furthermore, the proposed scheme was of an acceptable size, scale and design and could be undertaken in a manner acceptable for its location.
