Ridge named one of the UK’s Best Workplaces for Wellbeing

27 June 2025

We’re proud to be recognised on Great Place to Work UK’s Best Workplaces for Wellbeing™ list. This accolade is a milestone we celebrate and also represents something more: a moment of reflection on the kind of organisation we’re building - and the kind of culture we’re protecting as we grow. Wellbeing isn’t just a line in our business strategy. It’s embedded in how we listen, how we respond, and how we create space for people to bring their whole selves to work.

Culture is built by action

It’s easy to talk about wellbeing. What’s harder – and more important – is to embed it in everyday behaviours and decisions. Whether it’s our Mental Health First Aiders, our Menopause Champions, or Teams channels like “Pause & Connect”, we’ve worked hard to ensure that wellbeing is something employees can access without stigma, gatekeeping, or red tape.

Crucially, we don’t stop at signposting. Our approach is about creating real connection, understanding and empowerment across all the pillars of wellbeing – mental, emotional, physical, financial and social.

We’ve shaped our offer based on direct feedback through employee engagement surveys, Future Talent events, and Impact Groups. This led to tailored drop-in sessions at our offices on topics such as:

  • Stress awareness
  • Gut-brain connection
  • Neurodiversity
  • Financial wellbeing, with access to experts for mortgage and wills advice

It’s a broad and growing offer. And we regularly share it with prospective clients and partners – because how we look after our people is part of how we deliver great work.

Supporting our people

Wellbeing is a shared responsibility across our industry. That’s why we’re proud supporters of the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity, helping us promote wellbeing support services and sector-wide awareness events to employees and their families.

We’ve also made tools like the CALM app available to our people and their loved ones, and are investing in wellbeing rooms across our offices as quiet, supportive spaces that meet real-life needs.

As Amanda Forster-Searle, our Employee Experience Lead at Ridge, put it:

“This recognition reflects the care and intention we put into making Ridge a place where people can thrive. Whether it’s access to mental health resources, quiet spaces, or tailored wellbeing sessions based on feedback – it’s about building a workplace where happiness, wellness and productivity go hand in hand.”

Listening, evolving, growing

As we look ahead, we’re focused on continuous improvement. That means:

  • Supporting managers and our leadership team with awareness training so they can confidently support their people
  • Continuing our journey to become a Menopause Friendly Employer through Henpicked
  • Adapting to the evolving needs of a diverse, growing workforce

Recognition like this is important – but it’s only part of the story. Wellbeing is not a destination. It’s a conversation, a commitment, and a culture. We’re proud of how far we’ve come – and even more excited for where we’re going next.
