THE CHALLENGE: Delivering excellence across projects – big and small

Hillingdon Hospitals Trust faced the challenge of managing and improving its diverse estate while planning for a major transformation of its facilities. They required a trusted partner to work alongside their estates team, bringing multidisciplinary expertise to tackle both immediate needs and long-term strategic goals. This included smaller-scale refurbishments and compliance projects, alongside a landmark masterplan for a state-of-the-art Net Zero carbon hospital and car park.

Since 2019, we have developed a strong internal partnership, working client-side for many teams in the Trust. We provide expertise through the NHS SBS framework, including Building Services Cost Management, Project Management, Sustainability Consultancy, Building Surveying and Principal Designer services. We have supported a wide range of projects, from water quality initiatives to the ambitious 79,710 square metre Net Zero carbon hospital masterplan with a construction value of £924 million.

Our long-term partnership with Hillingdon Hospitals Trust has delivered impactful results across multiple projects. For the hospital masterplan, we played a pivotal role in helping the Trust secure funding by providing detailed financial analysis, sustainability costings and political sensitivity. By working closely with their finance team, we scrutinised expenditure, which lead to stronger cost management. Social value was embedded from the start, creating jobs and community facilities as key parts of the new hospital.

Across all projects with the Trust, we have built sustainability, BIM and compliance into every step, creating solutions that are both efficient and ready for the future.
