Mandalika International Street Circuit – Indonesia Indonesia

Designing a track that sets new standards

THE ASPIRATION
Turning Lombok into an international racing destination
The client wanted to create a world-class motorsport destination on Lombok, one that would attract global series like MotoGP and World Superbikes, showcase the island and drive long-term tourism growth. The site offered dramatic scenery and the opportunity to design and build a spectacular new race track from concept to completion.

OUR RESPONSE
Multidisciplinary expertise for an FIM Grade A circuit
We worked with Mrk1 to design and engineer a 4.3 km, 17-turn circuit capable of achieving FIM Grade A approval.

Our Race Track and Civil Engineering teams led the track design, pavement design and circuit approvals process, while our Design Management and Project Management teams coordinated with local consultants during the approval phases and construction visits.

We supported every stage: concept design, schematic design, detailed design and FIM approvals. A key challenge was working with varied local ground conditions as the circuit moved from concept to a buildable scheme. We provided clear design information and practical solutions to keep the project progressing safely and efficiently.

THE RESULT
A track praised for rhythm, challenge and scenery
The circuit opened in 2021 and has since hosted MotoGP and World Superbikes. The flowing layout has quickly become recognised as one of the most iconic tracks on the international calendar.

THE LASTING IMPACT
Putting Lombok on the motorsport map
Mandalika has helped put Lombok on the global motorsport map. The circuit supports Indonesia’s tourism ambition, brings international events and investment to the region and provides a venue that teams, riders and fans want to return to. Our work helped turn a bold concept into a permanent, high-performing racing venue.
