THE ASPIRATION
Enabling secure, seamless access

Manchester Airport Group (MAG) needed two new facilities at Stansted Airport to support its terminal expansion: a Landside Office for processing construction personnel and a Contractor Verification Point for secure airside access. These had to be delivered within a highly regulated, live airport environment. ensuring smooth operations while navigating tight site constraints, including roadways, existing infrastructure and the airside boundary.

We provided Project and Cost Management alongside multidisciplinary design expertise, overseeing the development of both facilities. Leading the design process, we ensured full compliance with operational and security requirements while minimising disruption to airport activities.

With strict Aviation Security in Airport Development (ASIAD) regulations and multiple stakeholders – including MAG’s Security, Environmental and Operations teams – effective coordination was essential. We played a key role in managing these relationships, fostering clear communication and ensuring all designs met MAG’s compliance expectations.

To overcome site constraints, we strategically positioned the new facilities to avoid major service diversions, reducing costs and minimising operational impact. Our phased construction approach kept the airside boundary secure, while collaboration with MAG’s Environmental team led to a smarter, cost-effective surface water attenuation solution that maintained both safety and compliance.
