A programme of construction and refurbishment to develop and upgrade the facilities at the National Hospital of Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN) and the adjoining Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine (RLHIM).
NHNN is a leading centre for the diagnosis, treatment and care of a wide range of neurological conditions. Along with its neighbour, the Institute of Neurology, it is a major international centre for research and training.
The Trust identified the need to increase the theatre capacity and refurbish existing theatres. A business case was prepared, with Ridge providing cost and programme advice, across a number of design teams, with the aim of ensuring continued live hospital services. Services were increased to support the additional theatre capacity.
Ridge identified a number of schemes and phased the programme of works to mitigate any disruption to the live hospital site. This involved assessing numerous solutions to mitigate downtime of theatre operations, loss of revenue to the Trust and carrying out risk assessments for patients and staff.
